About the vans we buy

End-of-life vans, collected & paid.

We buy scrap vans across the full commercial range — small vans, panel vans, Lutons, crew cabs, pickups. Each gets handled slightly differently depending on age, condition and where it's ended up. Common situations we see across West Suffolk:

  • Sole traders replacing their work van — the old one sat on the drive or at a yard
  • Fleet turnover from local businesses phasing out older vehicles
  • MOT failures with repair bills the owner has decided not to pay
  • Clean Air Zone exposure on older diesels no longer viable for London, Cambridge or other ULEZ-affected areas
  • Accident-damaged vans, Cat N or Cat S write-offs, insurance settlements
  • Abandoned projects — half-finished camper conversions, unfinished restorations

Getting the van to us

Most of the vans we buy aren't drivable. That's expected. Collection is part of the deal — tell us where the van is when you enquire (drive, yard, field, building site) and we'll sort access details with you.

For genuinely end-of-life vans

If the van is genuinely at the end of its life, we arrange onward transport to our partner Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), who issue your Certificate of Destruction. You get an offer, collection, payment and the legal closure in one visit.

Van FAQs

Van-specific questions.

Will you buy a van that won't start?

Yes. Non-running vans are a significant part of what we buy. Collection is part of the offer.

Are you a scrapyard or van breaker?

No — we're a local scrap van buyer, not a traditional scrapyard, van breaker or salvage yard. If you've been searching for a "Suffolk scrapyard" or "van breaker near me", we offer an alternative: free doorstep collection instead of driving or recovering the van to a yard. For genuinely end-of-life vans, we arrange onward transport to our partner ATF who issues your Certificate of Destruction.

MOT failed, massive repair bill — worth selling?

Tell us what the fail sheet said. MOT failures are a standard enquiry for us — we'll quote on that basis.

It's at a building site / farm / yard — can you collect?

Yes. We collect from wherever the van is. If access is tight — narrow farm track, tight yard, blocked-in — let us know when you enquire so we can plan it properly.

Can you buy a van with outstanding finance?

Yes. We settle the finance directly with your lender and pay you any difference. Same as with a car — we just need a current settlement figure from your lender before collection.

The van is VAT-qualifying — does that affect the price?

It can do. Commercial vehicles sold between VAT-registered businesses are usually handled on a VAT-inclusive basis. Mention it on the form and we'll make sure the paperwork's correct.

What about campers, converted vans, horseboxes?

Yes to all — conversions, campers, welfare units, horseboxes. Tell us what you've got, age, condition and where it's parked.

Can I get a Certificate of Destruction?

Yes, for vans genuinely at end of life. We're not an ATF ourselves, but we arrange onward transport to our partner ATF who issues your Certificate of Destruction. For vans that still have usable value, no CoD is needed — we notify the DVLA of the change of keeper, which gives you the same legal protection.
